Being a Presidential Student Ambassador has helped me forge the way to new
opportunities that have enhanced my time at VCU. For example, this summer I had the
opportunity to participate in the VCU School of Business’s International Consulting Program.
Myself and 15 other VCU Students were matched with 16 Greek students in a partnership with
The American College of Greece. We spent about two weeks in Richmond and then two weeks in Athens, Greece, working together in this accelerated program that earned us 6 credits. Within our time in Richmond, we were assigned real clients who operated businesses within Richmond and were tasked with consulting with clients to problem solve and achieve a desired goal. We then accomplished the same in Athens being given two weeks to complete our consulting reports and presentations using real research and real-time data.
My time in Athens was amazing, I had the opportunity to take in the beauty of an amazing place while working for our Greek client. I forged strong connections with the other VCU students during this program as well as the kind and welcoming Greek students. In the end, I earned a certificate, real corporate experience, and connections that will last a lifetime. I am so grateful to have been able to participate in such a unique experience and I have the Presidential Office to thank as well as the Global Education Office, and the School of Business.
